CCCC Road Run Goonhavern to Trevaskis (15 Oct 26)
'As autumn began to show its true colours in earnest, 24 Members of the Car Club joined together to make the most of the "better than average for the time of year" weather conditions (according to the Weather Man!) and enjoy a road run along part of Cornwall's finest North Coast. The adventure started at the Bay Tree Restaurant (situated next to Goonhavern Garden Centre) with excellent coffee and cake (and a good old-fashioned chat) before getting stuck into the route itself. The plan was to sample a selection of North Coast villages and hamlets between Goonhavern and our final destination at Trevaskis Farm Restaurant (near Hayle) where we would stop for lunch.
From Goonhavern the group routed toward Perranporth, St Agnes, Porthtowan and Portreath before climbing uphill onto the North Coast road and past the notorious Hell's Mouth cliff edge. After driving through Gwithian and skirting the edge of Hayle the route turned inland, passing through Fraddam and Leedstown, followed by Reawla, Wall, Gwinear and Angarrack on the final leg to Trevaskis Farm.

A superb hearty lunch (ranging from full on roasts to lighter bite sandwiches) and some more equally good conversation in the Trevaskis Farm Restaurant proved to be the perfect end to the day and not a drop of rain in sight! So the Weather Man did get it right ....... thank goodness!!'
